Safe Use of Helium Cylinders

 Level: Any
Helium balloons add color and life to your special event. For carnivals, open houses, school and church events, receptions, outdoor weddings, sports events, grand openings and more.

  • To transport, strap helium cylinder on two-wheel dolly.
  • Transport cylinder with cap secured tightly inside a well-ventilated vehicle.
  • Set cylinder on a flat, level surface or secure to a post, tree or wall.
  • Dismantle cylinder and reattach cap when not in use.
  • After each use, secure the "open/close" valve(s) tightly to prevent helium escape.
  • Use the cylinder to fill balloons only.
  • Do not breathe helium from balloons.
  • Any pressurized gas is potentially hazardous. Helium is a non-flammable, colorless, odorless, tasteless, inert, non-toxic gas, but it is a hazard as an asphyxiant because it can deprive your lungs of oxygen.
